What Are Veneers and What Can They Treat?

Veneers are very thin, tooth-shaped “covers” or “shells” that fit over the front surfaces of your teeth. They are typically made of porcelain and are designed to cover up stained, chipped, or misshapen teeth. With a full set of veneers, you can completely transform your smile in just two visits with Dr. Frye and the team at Frye Dental Group.

Am I A Good Candidate for Veneers?

Not sure if veneers are right for you? Here are a few signs that you could benefit from treatment:

  • Deep or internal tooth staining
  • Misshapen or uneven teeth
  • Slightly crooked teeth
  • Gapped teeth or uneven spacing
  • Minor chips and damage

Your mouth must also be healthy and free of major issues like cavities, infection, or gum disease to get veneers. During your consultation with Dr. Frye, he will examine your mouth and discuss all of your options for cosmetic dentistry, including veneers.

The Benefits of Veneers

Minimally Invasive

Compared to other options, such as cosmetic dental crowns, veneers require less natural tooth material to be removed. This makes them a faster, simpler, and less invasive option.

Natural Look & Feel

At Frye Dental Group, we use the latest 3D scanners and digital design tools to create your dream smile. Your new veneers will look, feel, and function just like natural teeth! Not only that, but we’ll work with you to pick the right shade, shape, and style for each tooth.

Long Lifespan

With proper care, veneers can easily last 10 years, and some patients keep them for even longer. And if a veneer does break or wear out, Dr. Frye can repair it and ensure your smile looks its best.

Totally Stain-Resistant

Unlike natural enamel, porcelain veneers are completely resistant to stains. Your new teeth will look bright and beautiful for years to come.

Easy To Care For

Are you wondering how to care for your new veneers? Brush twice a day, floss once a day, and see Dr. Frye for a checkup every six months. That’s all there is to it!

Understanding The Veneers Treatment Process

  • Tooth prep & veneer fitting – Once he approves you for treatment, Dr. Frye will begin the process by prepping your mouth and removing a thin layer of enamel from each tooth that’s getting a veneer. Then, he’ll take scans of your smile and send them to our dental lab partner. You’ll go home with a set of temporary veneers to protect your mouth.
  • Crafting your veneers – Next, our lab will use Dr. Frye’s scans to create your permanent porcelain veneers and send them to Frye Dental Group. This usually takes between 2-3 weeks.
  • Final placement – You’ll come in for your final visit once your permanent veneers arrive. Dr. Frye will remove your temporaries, prep your teeth, and make sure your new veneers fit perfectly. Once everything looks good, he’ll bond them into place permanently. All that’s left to do is head home, get back to your routine, and enjoy your new smile!
